Site work for a mixed-use development in Akron, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.
**As of August 29, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** METRO currently operates an intermodal transit center in downtown Akron. The transit center serves all of our fixed route service in addition to Greyhound and 2 other transit authorities. When the transit center opened in 2012, it incorporated a state-of-the-art feature at the time with digital displays at each of our 40 bus loading locations. These signs gave customers critical wayfinding information regarding their bus route as well as important messages regarding pertinent events related to METRO service. Since 2012 these signs have now exceeded their useful life as they are no longer supported by the manufacturer and parts have been discontinued. METRO intends to solicit proposals for new digital wayfinding signs that will provide our customers with real-time information as well as any other critical messaging that needs broadcasted. Question Submission Deadline:June 20, 2025, 4:00pm Any questions should be submitted through the Question & Answer section of the project (RFP #2025-01) on METRO's OpenGov Portal. In connection with the carrying out of this project, the Contractor shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, or handicap. No bids received All Offerors are certifying that they are not debarred or suspended by the Federal Government by signing the proposal page. METRO reserves the right to reject any and/or all proposals, to re-advertise for proposals and to waive any informality in any proposal and to determine the most responsive proposal by its own criteria, as described within the specification. METRO further advises prospective Offerors that all proposals must be filed on the forms provided by the Authority, all required information in the Vendor Questionnaire section of this posting on OpenGov must be completed, and that all proposals must be in response. Question Response Date:June 23, 2025 (3) Davis-Bacon Act, as amended (40 U.S.C. 3141 - 3148). In accordance with the statute, contractors must be required to pay wages to laborers and mechanics at a rate not less than the prevailing wages specified in a wage determination made by the Secretary of Labor. In addition, contractors must be required to pay wages not less than once a week. The non-federal entity must place a copy of the current prevailing wage determination issued by the Department of Labor in each solicitation. The decision to award a contract or subcontract must be conditioned upon the acceptance of the wage determination. The non-federal entity must report all suspected or reported violations to the federal awarding agency. The contracts must also include a provision for compliance with the Copeland "Anti-Kickback" Act (40 U.S.C. 3145), as supplemented by Department of Labor regulations (29 CFR Part 3, "Contractors and Subcontractors on Public Building or Public Work Financed in Whole or in Part by Loans or Grants from the United States"). The Act provides that each contractor or subrecipient must be prohibited from inducing, by any means, any person employed in the construction, completion, or repair of a public work, to give up any part of the compensation to which he or she is otherwise entitled.
