PROJECT CLASSIFICATION: Building Construction, Heavy Construction and/or Municipal and Public Works Construction CONTRACT TIME: 240 Consecutive Calendar Days LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: $500.00 per Calendar Day A Certified Check or Cashier's Check, payable to the City of Ruston or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid, shall be submitted with each bid. Bidders are advised that both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the Contract Price, will be required. The Bidder is advised that the City of Ruston is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The bid proposal is firm for a period of forty-five (45) days from the date of the opening of bids and no bid proposal can be withdrawn for any reason during this period of time. The City of Ruston reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals for just cause and reserves the right to waive any and all informalities. The scope of work includes the following: 1. Construction of a new all-concrete skatepark facility through the renovation of the existing pool facility at Memorial Park in Ruston, LA. The site is approximately 20,000 square feet in total area. The scope of work associated with this set of Contract Documents includes the demolition of existing site features and removal of certain site elements like chain link fencing, site stripping & placement of select fill, earthwork, and grading, installation of drainage utilities, custom specialty concrete and steel construction for the skatepark features themselves, establishment of finished grade, construction of ADA compliant pedestrian pathways to the skatepark facility, and hydroseed/sod to restore areas disturbed during construction.
