A Bid Bond Made Payable to the Adjutant General's Office, State of Indiana, Must Be Enclosed With the Bid. Said Bond Shall Be in the Minimum Amount of Five (5%) Percent of the Maximum Bid Including All Additive Alternate Bids. All Bidders Must Be Certified Contractors, Hold a Valid Certificate of Qualification 1622.01 From The Certificate Board, Room 467, Indiana Government Center, 402 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, at the Time of Bid Opening. Certification With the Department of Transportation Does Not Meet the Above-mentioned Requirement for Pre-qualification. The Bidder Must Be Qualified in the Classification of the Prime Contract. This Project is Dependent on Government Funding. Camp Atterbury Reserves the Right to Reject All Bids. Note: Contracts Resulting From This Solicitation Will Be Required to Conform to I.c. 4-13-18 (Contractor's Employee Drug Testing). Note: in Accordance With I.c. 4-13-16.5-2, the Following Goals Are Established for This Construction: Mbe 7%, Wbe 5% and Ivbe 3%. The Contract for This Work Shall Be Awarded or Rejected Within Sixty (60) Calendar Days From the Date of Opening Bids. Contact Information for Rfi's and/or Product Substitution Requests Can Be Made by Contacting James Tradup at Jtradup@dccm.com All Rfi's and/or Product Substitution Scope- The intent of this project is to rehabilitate the existing Bridge No. RRB02 carrying Railroad Spur over Sugar Creek to the east of the existing Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center (CAJMTC). The Bridge No. RRB02 substructure is in fair condition and will be rehabilitated as part of this project. Proposed bridge improvements will include the removal and replacement of the existing pile encasement system, installation of riprap at all piers, and miscellaneous repairs to bearing assemblies. Existing Bridge No. RRB02 is a nine (9) span (2 @ 31'-0", 1 @ 29'-6", 5 @ 48'-3", 1 @ 29'-0") steel beam bridge with a total out-to-out length of 361'-9". The existing out-to-out deck bridge width is 10'-0" and carries one set of railroad tracks. The existing deck is comprised of wooden railroad ties. Present Structure, Remove Portions: This work will include and be limited to concrete removal on the bridge identified in the plans. Removal will include the existing pile encasement system for the limits noted in the plans. Proposed Rehabilitation Work: This work will include and be limited to the construction of scour countermeasures, miscellaneous superstructure and substructure repairs, and removal of debris in the channel. The existing pile encasement jackets will be removed and replaced, and new riprap will be installed at all piers. Cleaning and epoxy coating of piles will be performed at all piers. Bearings will be checked for missing bolts or nuts and replaced as required and will be cleaned and spot coated as needed. The log jam at the upstream side of the bridge will be removed. Maintenance of Traffic: There will be no roadway maintenance of traffic required to complete the rehabilitation work. Waterway maintenance of traffic will be required to provide passage through the bridge for canoe and kayak traffic for the duration of construction activities. Temporary portage will be required until construction has extended beyond Pier 5, at which time a channel will be required to be maintained through the work zone for the duration of construction activities. Erosion Control: The Contractor will be required to provide temporary erosion control items to prevent sediment from leaving the site (see included special provisions for Stormwater Management Budget).
