The Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District (MTD), a public transit operator, is accepting bids to upgrade existing electric vehicle charging infrastructure and install new medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicle chargers. The project includes: Installation of new owner-furnished/contractor-installed ChargePoint bus charging systems within the Haley Street Canopy. Charging equipment consists of (4) level 3 DC fast charger cabinets with a total of (14) connectors and (3) level 2 chargers; New lighting fixtures and controls within both wings of the electric bus canopy building and the fuel island; Painting the electric bus canopies, fuel island, and gutter system replacement; Supporting electrical infrastructure and modifications to existing electrical panels for connections of new charging equipment; Structural work includes new concrete housekeeping pads in the electrical room and support framing for the new dispenser cabinets attached to the existing canopy building; and Cellular repeater system installation under the Haley Street Canopy and Maintenance Canopy.
