Well Abandonment McCarty Extension A. The Work to be performed under this Section includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and all other facilities and incidentals necessary to abandon one (1) flowing well located in Area 2 of the McCarty Ranch Extension property in St. Lucie County, Florida with approximate construction specifications and location as summarized below. Well ID Area 2 - Unknown Estimated Casing Depth (feet) ~400 Estimated Total Depth (feet) ~1,000 Final Well Casing Diameter (inches) 10 B. The proposed well shall be abandoned to standards as described by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) rules and regulations, and shall comply with any other applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations. C. The potentiometric surface of the Floridan aquifer is expected to be about 15 to 20 feet above land surface at the site, therefore, flowing well conditions are to be expected and compensated to allow for the planned testing and well abandonment. D. The Contractor shall establish his work sequence based on the use of crews to facilitate completion within the allotted Contract time. E. A video log will be performed by the Contractor on the well prior to abandonment with a color video camera with downhole and 360 directional side viewing capability. F. If there are any partial obstructions noted in the well, they shall be cleared by the Contractor prior to well abandonment as approved by the SFWMD. Drilling out of fill material shall continue until the Contractor begins drilling new limestone formation in the borehole. G. A series of geophysical logs will be performed by the Contractor on the well after clearing of the open borehole and prior to abandonment. The geophysical logs will include caliper and natural gamma ray. H. If clearing is required, a second video log will be performed by the Contractor on the well after clearing of the open hole and prior to abandonment with a color video camera with downhole and 360 directional side viewing capability. I. Location of all existing utilities will be the Contractor's responsibility. Damage to any utilities shall be repaired at the Contractor's expense. J. These Specifications are intended to be a general description of the required work but may not cover all contingencies that may occur during well abandonment. Changes or variations from the work plan shall be approved by the Hydrogeologist, prior to execution.
