Site work for a bridge / tunnel in New Haven, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Removal and replacement of girders, corbels, and masonry walls within the Church St Tunnel. The tunnel will be closed to typical traffic circulation during construction. The supported slab (tunnel ceiling) will need to be shored to continue carrying live, dead, and construction loads for the full duration of the project. Contractors will be allowed a 12 week closure of the portion of the tunnel within the project limits for shoring activities. Question & Clarification Deadline:June 5, 2025, 9:57am writing via City's e-Procurement Portal's. The term of the contract because of this solicitation shall be one year unless stated elsewhere in the Specifications. If there are any options to renew, all renewals will be at the sole discretion of the City and pursuant to the same terms and conditions. Salary rates and the classification of employees shall be as specified in the Solicitation Documents. The rate of pay set forth in the Solicitation Documents is the minimum that shall be paid during the life of the Contract. Bidders must inform themselves about local labor conditions (e.g. the length of work day and the work week, overtime compensation, health and welfare contributions, labor supply and prospective changes and adjustments of rates).
