Completed plans call for the construction of a clubhouse / community center; for site work for a clubhouse / community center; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; and road / highway.

The Commissioners Court of Nueces County (hereinafter called the "County") will accept sealed competitive bids for: Driscoll Community Center. The scope of work for the Base Bid consists of the following: Construction of new Community Center Building using 2X6 wood studs for the exterior walls with batt insulation and dens-glass sheathing on the exterior face with hardi-plank siding and gyp. bd. interior sheathing. All interior walls will be constructed using 2X4 wood studs with batt insulation and a layer of gyp. bd. on each side. Roof framing will be wood trusses designed by truss manufacturer, with 5/8" plywood deck with composition shingle roofing. Ceilings will be suspended acoustical 2X2 with 2x4 LED light fixtures. Building will be constructed on a slab-on-grade foundation with rebar reinforcing. The Contractor shall provide all tools and equipment that are necessary to complete the project in its entirety. All work shall be in accordance with the scope of work. All materials used for the project shall be equal to or better than the existing materials quality. The Contractor will be responsible for removal and disposal of all demolished materials and debris from the work area. The Contractor shall take proper care to avoid unnecessary noise, clatter or obstructions in walkways, sidewalks, and roadways. The Contractor shall not interfere with use or safe passage to and from building and adjacent facilities. Nueces County does not provide project estimated cost, in order to receive the lowest & best bid for our taxpayers. Time is of the essence. Failure to complete the Project within the contract time, except as such time may be extended by delays approved by County, will subject the Bidder to whom the contract is awarded, liability for damages, as provided in the Conditions of the Contract. Note: The U.S. Department of Treasury will not extend its deadlines. All federally funded work/ assignments must be completed and in full use on or before December 31, 2026.
