The approximate quantities of major items of work are as follows: 5,500 Syd HMA removal and resurfacing Miscellaneous concrete work and drainage structure cover adjustments Only Bidders who have been prequalified by the City of Zeeland within the required days in advance of the bid opening in accordance with the Information for Bidders section will have their bids opened and read. This project will be entirely funded by the City of Zeeland; no federal or state grants are involved. All Proposals shall be made in accordance with the Bidding Documents. A Proposal Guarantee payable to the City of Zeeland, in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, must accompany the Proposal in accordance with the Information for Bidders. The right is reserved by the City of Zeeland to accept any Proposal, reject any or all Proposals, and to waive informalities in bidding when it is deemed to be in the interest of the City of Zeeland. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be directed to the Engineer. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids will not be answered. The Work to be completed consists of approximately 5,500 square yards of full depth HMA resurfacing of the surface parking lot north of Cherry Avenue, between Elm Street and Church Street in the city of Zeeland. Resurfacing includes raising and lowering manholes castings and valve boxes, restoration, and all appurtenant work. All materials, labor, taxes, permit fees, restoration, and all appurtenant work shall be included within the scope of the work for the Project.
