The City of Mesa is seeking a qualified consulting firm or team to provide complete design services. All qualified firms that are interested in providing these services to the City of Mesa are invited to submit their Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). All SOQs must comply with the requirements specified in this Request for Qualifications (RFQ). SECTION I - PROJECT DESCRIPTION The design scope for this project will include rehabilitation of thirty-two (32) water meter assemblies (WMA) at nineteen (19) sites in the City of Mesa. The existing WMAs are within underground vaults. The existing water meter sizes & quantities are as follows: sixteen (16) 3-inch, seven (7) 4-inch, six (6) 6-inch and three (3) 8-inch. The concrete lid of the concrete vaults will be removed with the remaining vault to be abandoned in place per the approved plans. The existing WMAs shall be replaced with new dual 2-inch, 4-inch, 6-inch or 8-inch WMAs, and be relocated above ground. Site work will include installation of new piping, valves, landscape improvements to mitigate the view of the WMA, and site restoration. SECTION II - OVERVIEW OF PROJECT PHASES The City of Mesa seeks a qualified consulting firm, or team, with extensive experience and knowledge of MAG and City of Mesa standards and regulations, to provide complete design-phase services and possible construction-phase services for Commercial Water Meter Vault Rehabilitation Phase 18. The following is a summary list of the major tasks for a typical design contract. These will be reviewed with the selected consultant and defined to meet the needs of the project as part of the contract scoping. Task 1 - Project Management Task 2 - Design Reports Task 3 - Detailed Design and Construction Documents Task 4 - Contracting Assistance Task 5 - Construction Phase Services The project plans will be prepared for construction in accordance with City of Mesa procurement contract requirements. The City may also request the Consultant assist with pre-construction and construction phase services for the project, including construction observation, testing, and final acceptance services. Regardless of the level of service ultimately needed, a consultant with successful experience in these areas is very desirable.
