The Project is located on Route 24 in the City of Orinda and Berkeley from Post Mile R5.8/R6.2 in Alameda County to Post Mile R0.0/R0.6 in Contra Costa County. The project proposes rehabilitating the Caldecott Tunnel Bores No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3. The project would preserve the structural integrity of the tunnels, improve ventilation performance and firefighting operational response, and extend the service life of the tunnels. The rehabilitation scope includes repair and patch spalls, remove and repair unsound concrete, delamination, rust and efflorescence identified within the wall and ceiling of the tunnels and plenums. The rehabilitation scope includes structural pavement, tunnel underdrain, electrical lighting and other electrical work. SWPP, concrete barrier, temporary traffic control systems, roadside signs, erosion control, excavation, electrical, demolition, tunnel temporary ventilation, clearing & grubbing, pumps, pipe supports, CMU, guardrail, tunnel temporary electrical, striping, drainage inlets, pipe inlets & grates, mobil barrier systems, landscaping, rebar, traffic control, furnish/erect structural steel, jet fans, sweeping, clean bridge deck surface, 316sss wsp, fittings, & valves, metal doors (pump room), biological monitoring, misc, metals, construction area signs. ** Requirements: 100% performance and payment bonds may be required for the full amount of the subcontract price.
