Replacement of Concrete Aprons at Central Fire Station Contractor shall replace all concrete aprons in front of the fifteen (15) apparatus bay doors. Contractor shall cut along the designated areas of the existing concrete that is specified to be removed. Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of the concrete at the specified work areas. Contractor shall ensure minimal disturbance to surfaces adjacent to the concrete areas specified for removal. Contractor shall be responsible for any damage to adjacent surfaces. Contractor shall make any necessary repairs to the existing subgrade to ensure it is properly compacted and graded to support the new concrete being poured. Contractor shall remove the existing caulk around all apparatus bay doors. There is approximately fifty (50) feet of caulk at each bay door. Contractor shall clean and prepare surfaces of all apparatus bay doors for application of new caulk. Contractor shall use caulk that is appropriate for outdoor use and compatible with existing materials. City Project Manager shall have final approval over the materials to be used. Contractor shall identify and mark locations for the expansion joints within the interior of the concrete slabs. Contractor shall install the expansion joint according to industry standards and ensure proper alignment and spacing. Contractor shall prepare work areas for new concrete, including making certain the areas are clean and clear of debris. Contractor shall pour eight (8) inch thick concrete paving in parking lot. Contractor shall use M4 type concrete to allow for at 72-hour concrete cure turnaround. Contractor shall use 5/8" epoxy pins.
