As of August 1, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on August 5, 2025. . Exterior: High pressure water clean (5,000 to 10,000 psi) and spot power tool clean to a SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a three (3) coat epoxy urethane system. Dry Interior: Spot power tool clean the spot coating failures throughout to a SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a spot two (2) coat epoxy system to the prepared surfaces. Wet Interior: Spot power tool clean the coating failures on the overflow pipe to a SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a spot two (2) coat epoxy system to the prepared surfaces. Cathodic Protection: Install an impressed current cathodic protection system. Repairs: 1) Install a gasket on the wet interior roof hatch (located outside the handrail). 2) Install handholds at the roof hatches (located inside the handrail). 3) Install a deflector bar on the draw pipe. 4) Install a roof painter's railing. 5) Install a wet interior ladder. 6) Replace the overflow screen. 7) Replace the aviation light beacon. 8) Replace the dry interior light bulbs. At said time and place, a public hearing will also be held on the 1st day of July 2025 for proposed plans, specifications, and proposed form of the contract for said Tower Maintenance Program, and at said hearing, any interested person may appear and file objections thereto or to the cost of said improvements. Proposal for Water Tower Rehabilitation Project No. 25-1005, Mason City, Iowa". Each bid must be accompanied, in a separate envelope, by a bidding check or bid bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid price, said check being either a cashier's check or a check certified by a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a Certified Share Draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, and made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Mason City, Iowa, as a security that the bidder will furnish the required bonds and enter a contract within ten (10) days after the award of the contract. The established DBE goal for this project is 0% of the total amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and maintenance bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Said bond is to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council, and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained, and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the city from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operation of the contractor. Said bond shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvements constructed for a period of two (2) years for all underground work and four (4) years for all pavement from and after its completion and acceptance by the city. Liquidated damages are applicable and begin after 30 days out-of-service or after Substantial Completion date whichever is the earlier date. Liquidated damages at $1,250/calendar day is to apply after this date. Ready for Final Payment Date is to be thirty (30) days after date Substantial Completion Date based on out-of-service days or scheduled Substantial Completion, or as adjusted by Change Order, or actual Substantial Completion if earlier. Liquidated damages after Ready for Final Payment Date of $250/day is to apply. Liquidated damages are cumulative if damages from Substantial Completion and Ready for Final Payment overlap. In addition, Special Damages, fines, or Set-Off may also apply per Bid/Agreement Form. The final completion date for the project is October 28, 2025. The City of Mason City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities. The structure is a 1,000,000-gallon composite elevated water storage tank with a low-water level of 59.5 ft. located at 502 43 rd St. SW in Mason City, Iowa. Substantial Completion by October 28, 2025, including cure and disinfection time. Question Deadline 06/17/2025
