Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Danville, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The Board of Trustees of Community College District No. 507 (Danville Area Community College) desires to receive sealed bids for a New Sidewalk. Danville Area Community College (DACC) is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the installation of approximately 250 linear feet of new sidewalk on campus. This project will connect the Bremer Conference Center to Jacobs Hall and the adjacent parking lot. The successful bidder will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the installation of the new sidewalk in accordance with DACC specifications and applicable codes. A. Grading and Drainage Where drainage crosses the sidewalk, the surface shall be uniformly pitched at 1/4 inch per foot from high to low side. o Where the longitudinal slope exceeds 2%, the cross-pitch may be reduced to 1/8 inch per foot. o Crowned walks are allowed only ifthe longitudinal slope is at least 2% and there is no cross-drainage. o Sub-grade must be compacted prior to placement ofreinforcing or concrete. Where fill is required, use crushed rock or road pack. B. Sidewalk Construction Walks shall be at least 4 inches thick, 5 feet wide. o Reinforce with #6 WWF or epoxy-coated rebar at 24" o.c. o At expansionjoints, provide 18-inch rebar at 24" centers. o No less than 3500 - 4000 PSI concrete mix. C. Intersections and Junctions Provide generous fillet curves at walk intersections. o At junctions with existing sidewalks, fillet curve terminations shall be 12 inches wide and reinforced to prevent cracking. o Reinforce all walk intersections and junctions to prevent "ear" breakage. D. Finishing All sidewalks shall receive a stiff broom finish. o Joints shall be hand-tooled with control joints spaced evenly approximately every 5 linear feet. Question Deadline 06/04/2025 DISCREPANCIES discovered by a bidder, or omissions from the Documents, or should the bidder be in doubt as to the meaning of any requirement on the Documents, the bidder shall at once notify the Assistant Vice President of Finance in writing, but in no event later than five (5) days prior to the date for receiving bids
