Site work and new construction of a pre-engineered storage facility in Danville, Illinois. Completed plans call for the construction of a pre-engineered storage facility; and for site work for a pre-engineered storage facility.

Danville Township is accepting sealed bids for a project to construct a 60' x 64' by 14' internal clearance pre-engineered wood frame building. DESIGN LOADS The roof design load shall be based on a minimum 20# per square foot, ground snow load. Trusses shall be designed to support a steel roof and interior steel ceiling. Top chord rated 4# per square foot and bottom chord rated 4# per square foot. The building shall be designed to withstand a 90 M.P.H. wind load. Shop drawings shall bear the seal of a Structural Engineer/Professional Engineer registered in the State of Illinois certifying the structural design of the building to meet local codes. Foundation: All columns to be embedded a minimum of 4' in the ground and sit on either a ready mix poured in place concrete pad or precast concrete pad. Design the foundation system to transfer all horizontal and vertical loads from the building into the ground using a presumed allowable soil bearing pressure of 4000 psf, a lateral pressure of 150, and a lateral sliding friction coefficient of 0.25. Purchaser reserves the right to perform a soil bearing test and require contractor bidding to design the foundation based on actual soil capacity with discrepancies being addressed via a change order. Premixed bagged concrete foundations are not acceptable. Columns to be backfilled with gravel that will be supplied by Danville Township. Remaining spoils to be left outside of the building foot print. And to be removed by Township. Columns: All columns to be a minimum of 3 plies of a minimum 2"x6" SP lumber #1 grade or higher, nail laminated together. Typical side wall columns shall be spaced at 8' on center; end wall columns at 9' on center maximum. Portions of the wood column below grade and less than 8" above grade shall be pressure treated to a net retention of 0.8 lb per cubic foot with CCA or approved equivalent (no ACQ or AC2 treatments will be accepted) and kiln dried before and after treating to 19% maximum moisture content. Splices shall be a minimum of 24" apart. Wall Framing: The exterior walls shall be framed with 2"x4" girts spaced no more than 26" apart. All framing lumber girts shall be MSR 1650. The perimeter exterior grade board shall be 1 row of #1 grade or better SYP 2" x 8" center-match pressure treated for ground contact and kiln dried before and after treating to 19% maximum moisture content. The packet of information includes design loads, foundation, columns, wall framing, trusses, roof and siding details, doors, and design criteria, warranty and references, along with general conditions for contractors. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Danville Township reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids for any or no reason.
