Description

Renovation of a power facility in Whale Cove, Nunavut. Working plans call for the renovation of a power facility.

The project objective is to successfully install pad mounted transformers for each feeders replacing the old existing 3 x 167 kVA platform mounted transformers. Either the transformers should be capable of providing power to both feeders in Whale Cove should one fail (two transformer configuration) or in a three-transformer configuration whereby the 3rd transformer is always energized, but not under load spare. Also, the substation structure will be upgraded up to standard specifications. TIMELINE: This project was publicly tendered and has closed. No bids were received and the tender was cancelled. Whether the project will be re-issued for tender has yet to be determined.
