The proposed project herein specified and described includes the following work: Install 1,320 feet of 8" DIP in Deer Run Subdivision, 1,080 feet of 6" DIP in Highland Road, 400 feet of 8" DIP in Pythian Avenue, 420 feet of 6" DIP in McKinley Avenue, 380 feet of 8" DIP in Rose Street, 920 feet of 8" DIP in Morgan Street, 420 feet of 6" DIP in Vine Street and 2,260 feet of 8" DIP in Highland Place. This project also includes replacing 11 water services on Fairview Avenue and Marietta Street. All proposals must be accompanied by a bank draft, cashier's check, or certified check made payable to treasurer, decatur, illinois, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid or bid bond in the same amount. The following Minority Participation Goals for Public Works Contracts are in effect for this contract: (1) Ten (10) Percent (%) of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by minority business enterprises if subcontracting opportunities are available and/or Ten (10) Percent (%) of the total dollar amount of the contract should be for the purchase of goods, material and equipment to Minority Business Enterprises. (2) Eighteen (18) Percent (%) of the total hours worked should be performed by minority workers. The Council of the City of Decatur, Illinois, reserves the right to accept, renegotiate or reject any or all proposals and to waive any variance from the requirements of the instructions for bidders. At the discretion of the Council, required items may be submitted after the bid opening if there is sufficient compliance with instructions at the time of the bid opening to permit the City to determine the price bid.
