Reference Number 0000422721 Bid Intent Not Available The City of Knoxville seeks to retain the services of a professional engineering and architectural consulting firm or team of firms with extensive experience to provide professional design services for the LT Ross Building Structure Repair. The LT Ross Building, located at 2247 Western Avenue in Knoxville, TN, currently is occupied by the offices of the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee. The structure was designed in 1978 using building materials, products and techniques in common use at that time, e.g., cast-in-place continuous and spread foundations, cast-inplace retaining walls, concrete masonry unit (CMU) bearing walls, cast-in-place and structural steel interior columns, 12-inch thick Spandeck floor planks with 3" reinforced topping slab, structural steel roof beams, and open web steel bar joists with metal roof decking. Over the years, the following structural deficiencies have developed and have progressed to the point where repairs are necessary: 1) concrete ramp separation from building structure; 2) interior slab crack and settlement; 3) exterior Spandeck plank deterioration and leaking. The intent of this project will be to provide the necessary structural repairs to the ramp and building foundations to arrest further settlement and to renovate the interior spaces that have been affected by the settlement of the structural components of the facility.
