Introduction and Overview The County of Los Angeles Public Works is inviting Design-Build proposals from interested firms to perform the design, construction, and warranty maintenance for the Olive View-UCLA Medical Center Continuum of Care Facility located at 14445 Olive View Drive, Sylmar CA 91342. The County's primary objective in utilizing the Design-Build approach for this Project is to bring the best available design and construction experience and expertise together to collaborate with the County as a team to successfully deliver this Project. Project Description The project will be constructed at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center campus at 14445 Olive View Drive, Sylmar, CA 91342, located on the west side campus and on the corner of Hillside Drive and Bucher Avenue. It is the former site of various cottages which were demolished, and the parcel is now vacant. This project includes construction of the 3-story, 61,000 square foot Mental Health Facility with secure outdoor activity site and surface parking lot in adjacent space. The Mental Health Facility will be comprised of 3 programs with 16-beds each, for a total of 48 beds in a single 3-story building. Proposers shall consider the development's placement among the larger campus and its ability to create a perimeter identity that recognizes the medical center and its relationship to the surrounding buildings. Make ready work for grading and fill should be taken into consideration as part of the scope of work. Additionally, the project will develop the site to provide limited on-site parking, utilities, and landscape/hardscape improvements between the project site and nearby Department of Agriculture buildings and parking lot. Project Design-Build Budget At the present time, the estimated cost range for the Design-Build contract is $70,000,000 to $72,000,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Project Schedule The anticipated Contract Time for this Project is 548 calendar days, as defined in Section 00 07 00, General Conditions, of the Project Manual and Section 01 00 00, Project General Requirements, of the Project Manual.
