Site work for a road / highway in Clearwater, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

The purpose of this contract is to complete a permanent road repair for Oliver Creek FSR at 1.7km. The intent of the design (Appendix 1) completed by ONSITE Engineering Ltd. (OEL Project 318-78-1-OC1.7KM-ROCKFILL) is to install a permanent riprap slope to stabilize and protect the streambank from further erosion and protect the roadway Prior to earthworks, the contractor is responsible to establish survey controls (staking) via total station method or RTK (Real Time Kinematic) method. Survey control will be required to be maintained for the duration of the works. Cut material is planned for end haul and is to be wasted at the designated spoil areas. Riprap, Surfacing and Subgrade Fill material will be excavated, loaded and end hauled from the designated quarry site. (Appendix 3). Drilling and blasting or rock hammering will be required to produce the designed rip rap specs. Metal Leaching and Acid Rock testing will be completed by the Ministry. Sediment and erosion controls must always be in place as per the design and the Landscape Construction Environmental Monitoring Plan (Appendix 2). BCTS will supply the Environmental Monitor and Cultural Monitor for the project. The contractor will be responsible for implementing and meeting all requirements in the Landslide CEMP (Grainger 2025) including shutting down during wet weather (see Appendix 5 - Wet Weather Shutdown Criteria for Worker Safety-Operational Guidelines). The contractor will be required to provide a Qualified Registered Professional to develop Safe Work Procedures and Written Instructions for working below the cutslope and temporary excavations. Contractor will be responsible to supply and install a 5000mm single rail fixed length gate with buried footing abutments. Gate will be in accordance with the Forest Service Road structure standards - Road Closure gates. STD-G-010-01 to 14. Contractor will submit a detailed construction schedule indicating the timing of the major activities of the Works to ensure conformance to the milestones and completion dates. The contractor will submit the name and resume of a key personnel designated as the supervisor who has completed similar projects within the last 5 years. This schedule and Key Personnel resume will be submitted to and approved by the Ministry Representative upon acceptance of the Contractors tender.
