The Howard County Housing Commission (the "Commission") is seeking proposals from real estate development firms (the "Developer") to develop affordable housing as set forth in this Request for Proposals (this "RFP"). The Commission's participation in affordable housing projects can provide a number of significant benefits including local zoning/regulatory relief, improved access to state funding, as well as financing assistance. The Commission is seeking proposals in which the utilization of one or more of these benefits will facilitate the development of new affordable residential units. The participation of the Commission typically requires a share of ownership in the ownership entity, land or both.
