The Project includes site/civil Work for removal of the existing ash landfill contents, hauling and disposal of contents offsite, testing, grading, restoration, and appurtenant Work. Bids are requested for the following Contract (with a project labor agreement): General Construction Contract No. 82. Prevailing Wage Rates: The Project is subject to New York State Department of Labor prevailing wage rates. Project Work: Construction includes the following: Removal and stockpiling for future use as backfill approximately 24 inches of the existing landfill's final cover system (i.e., 6 inches of topsoil plus 18 inches of the 24-inch thick barrier protection layer). Removal and disposal of the remaining components of the final cover system in a phased manner to limit generation of contact stormwater runoff, and excavation and disposal of underlying inert ash. Removal and disposal of the baseliner system, consisting of underdrain aggregate, perforated PVC piping, and bentonite layer within the landfill reclamation limit. Following sampling (by others) of the excavation surface to verify removal of any landfill-related impacts, additional excavation and disposal, if necessary, based on results of confirmation sampling. Restoration of the reclamation footprint using previously excavated topsoil and barrier protection layer. Providing associated site/civil and other required construction associated with the Project.
