Drainage System Improvements, City-wide LOCATION Project sites are located throughout the City of Boston. Specific locations will be provided by the Department following Contract Award and at intervals throughout the course of the contract. The Contractor shall make no claim for; no will s/he be paid for additional compensation because of the sequence, separation, or location of the work sites at which s/he will be required to work. Minority, 40 percent; Boston Resident, 51 percent; and Female, 12 percent. The work included in this contract consists of furnishing all equipment, tools, materials, and labor to clean and video record sewer structures and conduits at various locations throughout the City of Boston and to transport all cleanings removed to a DEP or EPA approved landfill. Cleaning shall be defined as the removal of all sediment and debris from the pipe and sewer structure. Cleaning includes the removal of tree roots, sand, gravel, grease, sludge, and other debris, the satisfactory handling, transportation, storage, and disposal of such materials in accordance with all local, state, and federal requirements and regulations, and performing all other related work that becomes necessary as work progresses. The catch basins to be cleaned vary in size and type. The Standard Details provided in Appendix III are representative of a majority of the basins in the Department's system but not intended to represent the characteristics or dimensions of every basin. No additional payment will be made for structures that differ from the standards. The Contractor shall make his own determinations of any and all conditions that may affect the performance of the work including access to and the type of material to be removed from the basins. The Work to be done under this Contract consists of provision and payment for all materials, labor, tools, equipment, pumping, water, power, transportation, superintendence, temporary construction of every nature, taxes legally collectable because of the work, and all other services and facilities of every nature whatsoever necessary to execute the work and to complete in every respect and as shown on the drawings and/or called for in the specifications. The Contractor shall take precautions to protect all walks, structures, furnishings, and landscape elements outside the area of work. The Contractor shall be liable for any and all damage to elements inside and outside the area of work. All street openings/excavations shall be securely covered at the end of each day's operation to ensure safe passage and to comply with M.G.L. found in Section 00 73 85. Quantities provided by the Department on the Form for Bid are estimates only. There are no guarantees of the total amount of work available. The Department reserves the right to amend these quantities and does not guarantee that the work will be continuous or that the quantities shown will be partially or fully utilized. The term of this contract shall be from August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2028.
