All work under this Contract shall be done in conformance with the 2025 Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges, the Supplemental Specifications contained in this book, the Construction Standard Details in effect as of March 12, 2025, the 1990 Standard Drawings for Signs and Supports, the 2015 Overhead Signal Structure and Foundation Standard Drawings, the 2009 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) with Revisions 1, 2, and 3 and the November 2022 Massachusetts Amendments to the MUTCD, the 1968 Standard Drawings for Traffic Signals and Highway Lighting, the latest edition of The American Standard for Nursery Stock, the Plans and these Special Provisions. The work to be done under this contract consists of Repairs to the Callahan Tunnel Ceiling system including cleaning and surveying the exhaust plenum, replacing ceiling panels, replacing ceiling framing members, installing redundant ceiling hangers, and repairing deteriorated concrete. In addition, furnishing maintenance stock ceiling panels for future use. Cleaning and painting of select Callahan Tunnel ceiling stringers. Rehabilitating the existing bulkhead within the Callahan Tunnel exhaust plenum. Balancing the Callahan Tunnel exhaust system. Replacing deteriorated staircases in the Callahan Portal Pump Stations. Repairing and waterproofing the Callahan Tunnel supply air plenum invert. Adding sump pumps and a concrete walkway to the basement level of Vent Building 1 along the Ramp D egress path. Site work and the installation of an waterproof coating over an subsurface embankment within Parcel 22 adjacent to the Air Intake Structure (AIS). Demolition to expose the fire standpipe expansion joints within the Ted Williams Tunnel and installation of fire rated access doors to facilitate maintenance. Replacement of the fire standpipe trench covers and partial reconstruction of the surrounding barrier in CASB and Ramp RT.
