Proposals are being accepted for asbestos removal only and general demolition only, or the contractor can bid both asbestos removal and demolition. If a general contractor is not licensed for asbestos removal they must partner with a licensed asbestos removal contractor. After the removal of asbestos, the demolition contractor would complete the demolition of the structures. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid guarantee equivalent to 5% of the bid amount. This can be secured by a bid bond or certified check and must be included with the bid. This project is not a prevailing wage project except under certain conditions where asbestos removal costs are over $2,000.00. Documentation of compliance with E-Verify is required as well as compliance with OSHA 10-hour construction safety course. The four homes are located at: 102 E. Maple 108 Main 187 W Maple 485 Armstrong No bidder may withdraw their bid within 15 days after the actual date of bid opening please note that a certified asbestos removal contractor is not required for the property at 187 W. Maple, as detailed in the attached asbestos handling document. For this property, the slate-type siding (4% Chrysotile) and window glazing (trace Chrysotile) must be handled per State and Federal guidelines, but general contractors may perform this work without a specialized asbestos license, as outlined in the attached document. For 485 Armstrong, no asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) were identified. The City of Stoutland reserves the right to waiver any informality or reject any or all bids.
