Renovation of a water / sewer project in Des Plaines, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
All bids faxed, mailed, emailed, or hand delivered will not be considered and will be returned to the Bidder. There is no bid depository safe available for mailing or hand delivering bids. The District will only accept bids electronically uploaded to the Bonfire Portal (please see instructions on how to upload the bid response on pages Bonfire-1 and Bonfire-2). Please see specific instructions on how to upload your bid to the Bonfire portal in the bid document entitled "Submission via the Bonfire Portal." The Bonfire link is unique to each solicitation. Bids will be deemed non-responsive if not submitted using the project-specific Bonfire URL link provided by the District with the bidding documents. Tenders are invited to furnish all necessary labor, supervision, tools, equipment, appurtenances, and materials, including transportation, required to spray in place a high temperature epoxy coating on a 100-foot section of 8-inch ductile iron pipe on the supply air piping to the grit building at Kirie Water Reclamation Plant, 701 West Oakton Street, Des Plaines, Illinois 60018. The Contract shall commence upon approval of the Contractor's Bond and shall be completed within ninety (90) calendar days after the Engineer gives official notice to begin, or upon expenditure of available funds, whichever occurs sooner. The estimated cost of the work under this Contract is $80,000.00. The District assumes no liability or responsibility for the failure or inability of any Bidder to successfully download any and all Contract documents, including but not limited to specifications, proposal forms and/or plans, as a result of any type of technological computer and/or software system failure or breakdown that restricts, prohibits or prevents successful downloading of any and all District Contract documents by the Bidder, whether caused by the District or other parties, directly or indirectly. Failure on the part of the prospective Bidder to receive a written interpretation prior to the time of the opening of bids will not be grounds for withdrawal of Proposal. The contact person for this Contract is Mr. John Harty. Mr. Harty will provide online responses to online inquiries. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to verify the applicability of the Prevailing Wage Act to this Contract with the Illinois Department of Labor. In the event the Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL) indicates the Prevailing Wage Act is not applicable to the work to be performed under this Contract, then a copy of IDOL's written indication of this determination must accompany the Contractor's initial request for payment. The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals.
