Sebastian Municipal Airport Taxiway G Construction FDOT FM No. 451509-1-94-01, FDOTFMNO.: 448113-1-94-01(CONSTRUCTION) Project #: 2404623-b RECOMMENDATION OF AWARD August 2025 6:00 PM Local Time The City of Sebastian, Florida intends to construct a new Taxiway Golf to improve access to the west side of the airport, improve the conditions of the old, decommissioned runway, and conduct improvements to the signing system. The old runway pavement condition has failed and requires removal. The new taxiway will be 2,200 feet long and 35 feet wide flexible pavement taxiway. Taxiway "G" will encompass the current de-commissioned Runway 13-31, which is 150' wide. The current old runway shows pavement distresses including potholes, longitudinal cracks that have started raveling, some fatigue cracking, depressed areas, and localized rutting and oil deposits. The surface is oxidized and raveled, leading to a rough unsafe surface with some FOD from loose aggregates. New pavement will allow for the correction of any deficiencies in the taxiway grade and provide a new pavement surface free of rutting and loose aggregate. This will extend the usable life of the existing runway pavement and provide a surface meeting or exceeding FAA grading requirements. Questions are due on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm local time.
