The nature of the work to be performed under this project shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment required to complete the scope of work called for by the contract documents. The type, purpose and location of the proposed project are generally described below and in more detail in the contract documents. The project is funded by Mayo, and Mayo will procure these services in accordance with Arizona Revised Statute Title 34 Public Buildings and Improvements, utilizing the DESIGN-BID-BUILD delivery method and selection process. The Discovery Oasis project includes the completion of the Landscape Salvage on 56th St. and along Mayo Boulevard between 56th Street and 64th Street, according to the contract documents and the necessary City of Phoenix requirements for final acceptance. There will be work in the ADOT ROW therefore, the contractor will be required to coordinate and be knowledgeable with ADOT construction related processes. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or surety bond for ten (10) percent of the amount of the bid included in the proposal as a guarantee that the contractor will enter into a contract to perform the proposal in accordance with the plans and specifications. Notwithstanding any other statute, the surety bond shall be executed solely by a surety company or companies holding a certificate of authority to transact surety business in this state issued by the director of the department of insurance and financial institutions pursuant to title 20, chapter 2, article 1. The surety bond shall not be executed by an individual surety or sureties, even if the requirements of section 7-101 are satisfied. The certified check, cashier's check or surety bond shall be returned to the contractors whose proposals are not accepted, and to the successful contractor on the execution of a satisfactory bond and contract as provided in this article. The contractor shall deliver the certified check, cashier's check or surety bond to Foursite Consulting, 4650 E. Cotton Center Blvd, Suite 200 Phoenix, AZ 85040, Attention Michael Wechsler. Any certified check, cashier's check or surety bond received after the Bid Due Date noted above will result in the bid not being accepted for consideration and shall be returned to the bidder. Mayo reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest responsible responsive bidder, or all bids will be rejected, as soon as practicable after the date of opening bids.
