Description

Site work and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Prince George, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; transportation facility; and water / sewer project.

Runway 01-19 at the Prince George Airport is used during the day and serves as a taxiway at night, lit only by blue LED taxiway edge lights. These lights are mounted on underground conduit electrical junction box lids embedded in the asphalt. Stormwater infiltrates the underground conduits, leading to water accumulation. In winter, the water freezes, causing frost jacking that damages the junction boxes and misaligns the lights. This creates hazards for aircraft and runway operations.
