Question Deadline 06/18/2025 Questions received less than 5 business days prior to the date for opening of Bids will not be answered. This work consists of the furnishing and installation of improvements to the ferrous chloride feed system located at the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) for the City of Grand Rapids. Work is to include but is not limited to: demolition of four (4) chemical feed pumps and piping, demolition of two (2) chemical sump pumps and piping, installation of two (2) chemical feed pumps and piping and appurtenances, installation of five (5) emergency shower/eye wash stations, installation of two (2) chemical sump pumps and associated piping and appurtenances, installation of one (1) flow meter and three (3) basket strainers. A certified check or bid bond for a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid will be required with each bid. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 45 calendar days after the date and time for receiving bids. Bidders on projects for which the Engineers Estimate is $10,000 or more and subcontractors whose portion of the work is $10,000 or more, must be prequalified with the Engineering Department of the City of Grand Rapids and capable of performing the various items of work on which they bid. The current City Commission Policy, Procedures for Prequalification of Bidders and Subcontractors and list of Prequalified Bidders and Subcontractors are on file at the Engineering Department for reference The City reserves the right to accept or reject any and all Bids; to reject the Bid of a Bidder who is not, in the opinion of the Engineer or City, in a position to perform the contract; to waive informalities, irregularities and technicalities; to reject any and all non-conforming, non-responsive, unbalanced [unreasonable unit price(s)] or conditional Bids; or to advertise for new Bids. The City also reserves the right to award the Contract in the Citys best interest, and therefore, may select a Bidder other than the lowest.
