2025 Street Improvements (Mill and Overlay) It is the intent of the City of Converse to award a contract for Mill and Overlay, level ups (as needed), and street striping on the streets listed below: Streets: Weichold Road (City Limits to FM 1516), Martinez Converse Road (Griffith Run to FM 1516), Eastbound Schaefer Road (East Norris Drive to FM 1516), Westbound Schaefer Road (FM 1516 to FM 78), Thornton Lane (Rocket Lane to NL 1604), FM 3502 (FM78 to South Street), and Trappers Ridge (Windburn Trail to Windburn Trail). Deadline for Submittal of Written Questions 06-30-2025 Questions regarding bids must be addressed to the Public Works Department at jmair@conversetx.net. The City reserves the right to withdraw this ITB for any reason. Any cost or expense incurred by the Bidder in preparing the proposal response shall be paid by the Bidder. Project duration to final completion: 365 days. General Specs: Weichold Road and Martinez Converse: o Mill existing roadway to a depth of 4"-6" and haul off. o Place and compact 'A' grade 2 crushed limestone base material on sub grade to widen road to a width of at least 24' wide. o Apply AEP prime coat per specifications, place and compact 3" of Type 'D' PG 64-22 HMAC on base material. Schaefer Road, Thornton Lane, FM 3502, and Trappers Ridge: o Mill 2", 4", or 6" of existing roadway and haul off. o Level up areas as needed using "B" Boy HMAC o Apply AEP prime coat per specifications, place and compact 2" of Type 'D' PG 64-22 HMAC on milled surfaces. Street Striping/ Marking (all roadways) o Two-Lane, Two-Way Roadway - Centerline: Single broken yellow line, 10' line / 30' gap (4"-6" width) - No-passing zones: Solid yellow (driver side) + broken yellow (opposing side) - Double solid yellow: For no-passing both directions - Edge lines: Solid white, 4" width (recommended for collectors or higher speed) - Material: Thermoplastic or paint with retroreflective beads o Five-Lane Two-Way Roadway with Center Turn Lane - Travel Lanes: Two in each direction, divided by broken white lines (10'/30') - Center Turn Lane: Solid + broken yellow lines on each side (per TMUTCD 3B-7) - Turn Arrows: White arrows every 100-200 ft in center lane - Edge Lines: Solid white (right), solid yellow (left if divided) - Bike Lanes: Optional; marked with solid white and bike symbols o Standard Marking Dimensions - Lane Line (white broken): 4"-6" width - Centerline (yellow broken): 4"-6" width - Solid Yellow (no passing): 4"-6" width - Turn Lane Edge: Solid + broken yellow (4"-6") - Stop Line: 12"-24" white line - Crosswalk: 12" bars or ladder style o All markings must be retroreflective and conform to TMUTCD Sections 3A, 3B, and 3C. o Material: Thermoplastic (preferred), preformed thermoplastic, or paint with reflective beads. o Line width: Typically, 4" or 6", depending on road classification and function. o Color: - White: Lane lines, edge lines (right), crosswalks, stop lines. - Yellow: Centerlines (two-way traffic) left edge lines, flush medians. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
