Renovation of a military facility in Houston, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
Solicitation Description: The Texas Military Department is seeking a Contractor to provide all labor, parts, material, equipment, and any miscellaneous material needed to remove and replace a 15-Ton Condenser for building1363; to remove and replace a 1,559 Thousands (M) of British Thermal Unit(BTU)'s per Hour (mbH) gas boiler for building 1377; and to remove and replace all single and double wall flue pipe at the boiler and hot water heater for building 105 7. All replacements will be new and of equal or better capabilities. This job will be at the Texas Military Department Ellington Field at 14657 Sneider Street, Houston, TX 77034-5586. Exterior Scope: 1. The Contractor must remove the existing 15-Ton Condenser and coordinate with TMD's Project Manager to keep unit. 2. Contractor must install a new condenser with a heat pump in the existing location or equal or better quality. 3. Contractor must connect the condenser to existing copper tubing and electrical, to include controls. 4. Contractor must ensure that the replacement condenser is to be 208-230 Volts (V)/60 Hertz (Hz)/3 Phase (PH) or equivalent that will work with already existing systems. 5. Contractor must replace existing Power control box as well due to weathering on current. B. Interior Scope: 1. The Contractor must remove and replace the existing 15-ton air Handler with a handler that includes a heat kit of equal or better quality. 2. Contractor must install the Heat kit into the existing wiring and disconnect. 3. Contractor must reconnect to existing copper refrigerant piping, electrical and plumbing drain. The existing primary is a copper piping whereas the secondary is a Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) that sits plum. 4. Contractor must ensure new unit will work with existing automation controls and electrical as the system is already programmed to work with an air handler equipped with a heat pump. 5. Contractor must install a new drain pan with a safety float. Building 1377 (Reference Attachment G.8 B1377 System) A. Contractor must remove and replace the existing 1,559 mbH gas boiler with a unit of equal or better capabilities. B. Contractor must ensure the boiler is tied into the existing building system. C. Contractor must reconnect to existing piping, electrical and plumbing. D. Contractor must ensure unit will work with existing automation controls and electrical as the system is already programmed to work with Direct Digital Control (DDC) system. Note: New unit is to be a Boiler that utilizes same BTU capacity as current, is at or above a 94% thermal efficiency, has a 5:1 turndown ratio, and has an applicable steel water tube heat exchanger. E. Contractor must ensure that the new flue system is brought up to current Federal, State, and Local code during installation. F. Contractor must provide specification and manuals to TMD Project Managers upon completion. Building 1057 (Reference Attachment G.6 B1057 System) A. Contractor must remove all single and double wall flue pipe at the boiler and hot water heater. B. Contractor must install new double wall flue pipe where removed. C. Contractor must demo the existing roof curb cap and replace with a new roof curb cab with exhaust hood. D. Contractor must ensure that the hot water heater and the boiler flue are tied together and tie in the existing roof into the curb cap. E. Contractor must ensure unit works with existing system.
