The Township of Armour is seeking qualified contractors to provide 150 hours of roadside brushing using compliant equipment and methods. The brushing supports the annual Municipal Maintenance Program as set by the Operations Roads Department. The successful contractor shall: o Complete work using a mounted rotary-type brusher or equivalent, with a minimum reach of 6 metres. o Cut brush to a height of 6-8 inches above ground. o Cut brush to 12-18 inch lengths. o Cut trees up to 6 inches in diameter o Mulch stumps to near ground level, except where rocks or ground conditions make this impractical. o No partial limb raking, unless required for sightlines or vehicle clearance and where full mulching is not feasible. o Do not push over trees unless they are fully mulched or removed. o Cut brush to the fence line, avoiding fence damage. Damage is the contractor's responsibility. o Follow special conditions for: o Trespass Roads: Brush to fence line or top of ditch slope. o Non-Trespass Roads: Brushing width determined by Public Works Superintendent or designate. o The Township is not liable for equipment damage due to rocks, wire, or debris in the ROW. o Brushing locations will be assigned by the Roads Supervisor or designate. o All work must follow Book 7 traffic control setups and equipment must be suitable for working on roads.
