Renovation of a municipal facility in Chicago, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Work consists of reconfiguring existing workstations, installation of new modular wall panels to create additional private office and reconfiguring lighting, mechanical supply and return vents, fire suppression, electrical and data outlets and life-safety devices as required by the new work. There will also be new fan coils installed in the existing enclosures in the offices along the north wall of the project scope. This work affects seven zones on the 34th floor but does not comprise the entire 34th floor. Work will be scheduled for continued occupancy during construction. Note that environmental testing was conducted in the fall of 2023 in preparation for this project and the results of which are included in Appendix A of these specifications. As noted in the report lead based paint is present on the existing black metal window frames, however the work of this project will not disturb any of the material containing lead and therefore abatement is not required. There are no connections planned that penetrate any of the existing material including frames, mechanical units, etc. If the Contractor finds that this is not accurate during the development of their work plan, and prior to commencing work, the A/E and the GSA must be notified immediately for abatement planning and the project schedule and contract shall be adjusted to accommodate abatement.
