Renovation of a municipal facility in Nashville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
In compliance with manufacturer's standard installation requirements for the requested warranty, furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and tools required to complete the work indicated below, including all applicable tax. The new roof system proposed for the Nash County Administration Building and DSS Annex must meet all Local, State and National Building Code Requirements for the geographic location of the project. The contractor will be responsible for preparing the existing roof system for reroofing with the new specified roof system; removing the existing single-ply roof membrane, insulation and all associated roof components; examining the condition of the existing deck; and notifying the owner of any existing deck deficiencies for possible repair (not within this scope of work). Furthermore, over the existing metal deck, the contractor will be responsible for installing a new mechanically attached TPO roof membrane over new polyisocyanurate insulation per the attached specification, to include new membrane, insulation, flashings, wood blocking and roof edge metal. All roof components are to be installed per manufacturers technical specifications. As part of the work, the contractor will be responsible for wrapping walls with new TPO membrane flashing, removing and in-fill with like roof components any unused penetrations and unused curbs; location confirmed during pre-bid meeting; removing and replacing all drain sleeves; removing and replacing all gutters and downspouts; removing and replacing existing metal coping cap system; removing and replacing all roof edge metal, removing and replacing the large roof hatch; cleaning, priming, and painting. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond of an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal. This specification covers the removal and replacement of approximately 45,000 square feet of existing membrane roofing system (mechanically attached EDPM) at the Nash County Administration Building and the DSS Annex located at 120 West Washington Street in Nashville, NC. Furnish and install a complete TPO roofing system, including: a) Roofing Manufacturer's requirements for the specified warranty b) Preparation of roofing substrates c) Wood nailers for roofing attachment d) Insulation e) Mechanically Attached TPO membrane with an alternate for Adhered TPO membrane f) Metal roof edging and copings g) Flashings h) Walkway pads i) Other roofing-related items specified or otherwise necessary to provide a complete weatherproof roofing system 2. Installation Instructions a) Provide Manufacturer's instructions to Installer, marked up to show exactly how all components will be installed. b) Where instructions allow installation options, clearly indicate which option will be used. 3. Shop Drawings a) Provide roof plan indicating orientation of steel deck, and fastener and/or adhesive layouts. b) Provide the roof membrane Manufacturer's standard details customized for this project for all relevant conditions, including flashings, base tie-ins, roof edges, terminations, expansion joints, penetrations, and drains. 4. Provide copy of Pre-Installation Notice to show that Manufacturer's required Pre-Installation Notice has been accepted and approved by the Manufacturer. 5.
