1st Street Pedestrian Improvements pacific Avenue to Long Beach Boulevard Description of Work: The Work to Be Done Encompasses Improvements Over an Approximately 0.3-acre Area Distributed Across Three City Blocks. Work Includes, but is Not Limited to, Furnishing All Labor, Materials, Equipment, and Incidental Necessary for the Execution and Completion of the Following Activities: * Traffic Control: Pedestrian and Vehicular Traffic Control; * Demolition and Removal: Demolition and Removal of Existing Pedestrian Concrete Paving and Brick Pavers, Curb Ramp, Portion of Existing Driveway, Apron and Curb, Concrete Curbs at Planting Areas, and Landscape Elements; * Surface and Structural Improvements: Improvements to Be Constructed Include New Americans With Disabilities (Ada) Curb Ramp, Portion of Vehicular Driveways, Aprons, and Curbs, Enhanced Integral Color Concrete Paving, Decorative Embedded Metal Inlays With Anti-slip Coating (Bid Alternate), Pedestrian Concrete Paving, Raised Truncated Domes at Signalized Vehicular Crossings, Disintegrated Granite (D.g.) at Existing Tree Wells, Decorative Epoxy Modified Acrylic Coating on Existing Crosswalk Concrete Paving; * Site Furnishing and Architectural Elements: Site Furnishings, Irrigation, Landscape Planting, Refinishing Select Existing Vehicular Light Poles and Mast Poles With New Paint and Existing Bench Seating (Bid Alternate), and All Associated Site Development. * Preservation of Exiting Features: Some Elements on Site, Including but Not Limited to, Concrete Paving, Pedestrian Lighting, Palm Trees/trees, Utilities, and Other Associated Items Shall Be Protected in Place. Bids Are Required for the Entire Work. * Small Business Enterprise (Sbe) Program: Bidders Are Advised That This Project is Subject to the City's Sbe Program. See Divisions C and E of the Specifications. Project Labor Agreement (Pla): This Work is Covered by a Citywide Project Labor Agreement (Pla) Entered Into by the City of Long Beach With the Los Angeles/orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council and the Signatory Craft Unions. The Pla Establishes the Labor Relations Policies and Procedures for the City, the Contractor and Subcontractors Awarded Contracts for the Work and for the Craft Persons Employed by the Contractor or Subcontractor While Engaged in the Work. See Division E of the Specifications for the Applicable Pla. Contractor's License: The Contractor Shall Possess a Valid California Class a Contractor License at the Time of Bid Submittal. The City May Deem Any Bidder Who Fails to Possess the Required License to Be Non-responsive. Minimum Qualifications: Please Note That for This Work, Minimum Qualifications Apply. Information Concerning These Requirements Can Be Found in Division C of the Specifications. Bid Security: Bidders Must Scan and Upload With Their Bid Documents, a Certified Check or Bank Draft Payable to the City of Long Beach, Drawn on a Solvent Bank in the United States of America, or a Satisfactory Bond in an Amount Not Less Than 10 Percent of the Bid. The Bid Security Shall Serve as a Guarantee That the Bidder, if Awarded the Contract, Will Execute, and Deliver to the City, No Later Than Fifteen (15) Calendar Days After the Date Shown on the "notice of Award," the Following Items: 1. The Contract for Doing the Work, And2. A Corporate Surety Bond in Favor of the City of Long Beach in an Amount Not Less Than 100 Percent of the Contract Price for the Faithful Performance of the Contract, And3. A Corporate Surety Bond in an Amount Not Less Than 100 Percent of the Contract Price for the Payment of All Labor and Material Claims, And4. Evidence of Required Insurance Coverage as Written in Division H of the Bid Specifications. The City Will Retain the Bid Security Accompanying All Bids Until It Awards the Contract. The City Will Retain the Bid Security Submitted With the Bid of the Bidder to Whom an Award of Contract is Made, and the Bid Security of the Next Higher Bid, Until the Contract Between the Bidder to Whom Award of the Contract is Made and the City Has Been Executed. This Project Will Be Subject to the 2025-1 Prevailing Wage Rate, as Determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations for the State of California. Bidders Are Directed to Section 7-2, "labor," of the Standard Specifications, and to Division H, Subsection 7-2.2, "prevailing Wages," for Requirements Concerning Payment of Prevailing Wages, Payroll Records, and Hours of Labor .
