Site work for a water / sewer project in Brooklyn, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project consists of hydraulic dredging over two years to remove approximately 26,000 cubic yards of sediment. In year one (2025), approximately 18,000 cubic yards will be removed from the northeast shoreline of Holiday Lake continuing down to Ford's Cove, then along the west shore of Ford's Cove to the east shore of Don's Cove, then north along the west shore of Don's Cove, and pumping it into prepared sediment basins. In year two (2026), approximately 8,300 cubic yards will be removed from the east and west shores of Ike's Cove, pumping it into prepared sediment basins. The first year of work under the proposed Contract shall commence upon issuance of the written Notice to Proceed and after September 1, 2025. The second year of work under the proposed Contract shall commence after September 7, 2026. The proposed dredging improvements listed shall be fully completed on or before December 1, 2026. The Bidder agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $500 for each consecutive calendar day after the specified completion date that the project is not fully completed. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Section 26.8 of the Code of Iowa. Bid security shall be 10% of the bid amount.
