for the following: furnishing all equipment, labor, materials and appurtenances required to construct approximately 28,400 L.F. of 4" diameter water main; open bore and/or horizontal direc- tional drilling to cross wet areas, utilities and driveways; 160 L.F. of bore and jack 12" steel casing; valves; fittings; connection to the existing systems; pressure control systems, refurbishing hydropneumatic tank and other such work as may be incidental to STEELE CITY REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION WATER MAIN. Envelopes containing bids shall be sealed and must be accompanied with the required bid security and documents in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Each successful bidder shall supply a Construction Performance Bond and a Construction Payment Bond executed by a Corporate Surety licensed in the State of Nebraska, each in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract price. Partial payments will be made monthly, less the appropriate retainage, for the work done and materials supplied. No bid may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days after the date fixed for the bid opening. Only firm (non-escalating) bids will be allowed. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids; and to waive irregularities or in- formalities to accept the BID it deems most beneficial. Bids received after the specified time of closing will be returned unopened. The Owner will accept only those sealed bids, either hand delivered or received via U.S. Mail or other commercial carrier. Items transmitted by facsimile or electronically will not be accepted.
