Whitten Building (called Whitten for short) is located along the National Mall near the Smithsonian Metrorail stations on Independence Avenue. Lot #9 is a parking lot that is bound by a landscaped area known as the People's Garden to the north, the 12th Street to the east, the Whitten Building to the west, and the Independence Avenue to the south. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT: Government Cost Estimate, per FAR 36.204, is between $1 million to $5 million. PERFORMANCE PERIOD: The performance period is anticipated to be 180 days but is considered negotiable. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POTENTIAL OFFERORS:Potential offerors must have successful experience in the repair of large sinkholes and asphalt/paving of parking lots, inclusive of the required experience and qualifications to navigate unique construction and permit efforts required by Washington Metro (WMATA) given the sinkholes' location.
