Site work for a water / sewer project in Lynchburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The purpose of this project is to stabilize approximately 140 liner feet of eroding streambank along the James River in Lynchburg, VA and address major causes of bank erosion at the project location, in order to protect the integrity of the existing public sewer interceptor located adjacent. The proposed design includes imbricated rock wall streambank stabilization, storm drain outfall rehabilitation, and associated site improvements. The project lies on CSX Transportation (CSXT) private property within a FEMA mapped floodplain, and the required permits/agreements are included within this project manual. Construction ingress and egress shall occur off of Hydro Street to the northwest by way of a 1.25 miles long gravel road, which follows along the James River and CSXT railway tracks. Any and all addenda will only be posted to the City's website at online. Bid open description: Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall First Floor Conference Room. There will be a "Live Bid Opening" link on the City's website at: https://www.lynchburgva.gov/Bids.aspx so that the public can virtually view the proceedings, as well.
