The City of Avon Park is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced respondents to provide Design-Build Services for the turn-key design, permitting and construction of an approximately 3,400 square foot of brushed concrete splash pad (including a 5 dry area) along with eight covered tournament-ready pickleball courts, sidewalks, site lighting and well-planned connection between park features. The site of the project is Donaldson Park, located at 109 East Main Street in Avon Park. The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a one-time contract with a design-build firm to provide all labor, administration, design, equipment, materials, permitting and construction of a splash pad and associated facilities. The intent is for the splash pad to serve as both a visual feature and an inviting children's play area. Features shall promote areas of multiple children playing together while using the splash pad but also have the ability to serve as a dry civic area when the splash pad is not operating. The splash pad shall include a brushed concrete splash pad (including 5 dry area) of wet surface, with adjacent over spray area. Respondents shall submit pricing, accompanied by a conceptual design which includes equipment listing and specifications, piping layout with sizing and water spray feature layout with specifications. The cost for Civil site design/permitting and construction for the related site improvements shall also be included in this Contract. The design-build firm shall be responsible for final grading within the limits of the splash pad and related improvements construction.
