A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The City of Ladue Public Works Department is soliciting bids for making repairs to the City Hall Cupola and exterior painting. Questions about the project should be directed to Scot Bollinger, Superintendent of Public Works: (314) 993-5665 ext.1302 or sbollinger@cityofladue-mo.gov The scope of work involves removing and replacing all rotten wood from the City Hall cupola and repainting it as well as a small louvered gable. There are two add alternates for exterior painting that will be priced separately but may be included. All work is to be done in accordance with the Cupola Repairs and Painting Specifications. The successful bidder will be responsible for checking all quantities for this work before starting. GENERAL A. Description of Work 1. It is the intent of these specifications that this job shall be performed to the highest standards of workmanship using products and materials of the best quality. The contractor shall provide the necessary project management, coordination, and project supervision and should include the following. _ Furnish the necessary labor for material handling and cleanup throughout the entire project length. _ Provide a dumpster for removal of existing material. _ Provide and install temporary protections as needed. _ Remove and dispose of existing rotted wood trim and panels. All lower section panels and trim pieces are to be replaced. _ For the lower section, furnish necessary labor and material to construct new panels and trims that are made of cementitious material such as Hardie or like material. Panel and trim repairs made above the lower section can be repaired by matching the existing material and trim. _ Remove and replace rotted balusters on the existing balustrade. _ Furnish the necessary labor to lightly scrape off all loose paint and material and then power wash the entire cupola. If other add alternates are approved for painting, they are to be prepped, and power washed as well. _ Furnish the necessary labor and materials to paint the entire cupola, small gable and other areas if added. B. Painting Specification _ Perform preparation and cleaning in strict accordance with the paint manufacturer's instructions and with these specifications. _ Before applying paint, clean surfaces that are to be painted and allow time to fully dry. _ Lightly set and putty all new nails and all older nails that have lifted above the surface of the wood. _ All new wood and new cementitious panels/trim are to be primed with a high quality latex primer that is compatible with the selected paint. Any exposed copper or metal should also be primed prior to painting. _ Prior to painting, caulk all cracks, gaps, and seems as necessary with a high quality exterior paintable caulk. _ The paint for this project is to be Sherwin Williams Emerald Rain Refresh Exterior Acrylic Latex Paint and should be applied per manufacturer's recommendations. The colors are to be Extra White and Black with a satin f inish and two finish coats of paint are required. _ The clockface is to be removed, repainted and reinstalled using white paint for the face rings but the numbers are to be painted black. The cupola cap, weathervane and bell are also to be painted black.
