Renovation of a mixed-use development in Costa Mesa, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Project contract between Newport-Mesa Unified School District and the selected Bidder, Theater Systems Integrator (TSI), will outline the scope of work, including project planning, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, testing, training, and warranty review. The TSI will coordinate with the District to deliver a fully integrated, turnkey lighting system for the Estancia High School Theater, meeting all specified requirements and gaining District approval upon completion. 1. The Construction Budget is approximately +/- $450,000 dollars. 2. The Project schedule is approximately 120 calendar days for turnover of construction; Notice to proceed is anticipated to occur on or about July 17, 2025 . A. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Newport-Mesa Unified School District, acting by and through its Governing Board, ( DISTRICT ) will receive sealed bids from contractors for award of a contract for the PROJECT up to, but not later than the bid deadline. B. Bids shall be received in the place identified above. Whether or not bids are opened exactly at the time fixed in this notice, no bid will be received after the bid deadline. C. Bid documents are available for download and printing at PlanetBids see item D. Each BIDDER, simultaneously with the execution of the Contract (See General Conditions, Article 1, subjection d for definition), will be required to furnish a Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price, as well as a Faithful Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price. Said Bonds shall be from an admitted California Surety satisfactory to the DISTRICT and listed in the Federal Register, issued by the Department of Treasury, and licensed in California. Said Bonds shall remain in full force and effect through all guarantee and/or warranty periods stated in the Project Documents. Use of the bond forms, without variations, as set forth in Section 11 is mandatory. G. The BIDDER shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professionals Code and be licensed in the applicable classifications for the trades for which the contractor is submitting a bid. The BIDDER represents and warrants that all subcontractors and sub-subcontractors shall be properly licensed at all times during performance of the Contract. The prime contractor shall possess an A or B License for this contract/project. For this contract/project, all work requiring a specialty license and/or certification under applicable law shall be performed by subcontractors (to the prime contractor) who possess the required specialty licenses and/or certifications, unless the prime contractor itself holds such specialty license(s) and/or certification(s), in which case the prime contractor can self-perform such portions of the work under such specialty license(s) and/or certification(s). At the time of submitting its bid, the prime contractor shall list all work requiring a specialty license and/or certification and identify: (1) who will perform each portion of such work; and (2) the corresponding specialty license/certification, including the number and holder thereof. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the bidders bid being deemed non-responsive. H. This PROJECT has 3% Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation goals. I. Questions about this PROJECT should be directed to the DISTRICT via PlanetBids. J. Unless permitted by applicable law, no bid may be withdrawn until Ninety days after the Bid Opening Date. K. The DISTRICT reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive irregularities in any bid. L. The DISTRICT is an equal opportunity employer.
