Renovation of a municipal facility in Chino, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
**As of August 8, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The City of Chico "City" is soliciting a request for proposals (RFP) from qualified audio-visual-lighting (AVL) firms to update the existing audio-visual-lighting system in the City Council Chambers. The City Council Chambers, located at 421 Main Street in Chico, California, was previously fully updated in 2017. The Chambers have high ceilings that can make it difficult to hear during meetings, as well as poor lighting that makes unsatisfactory video quality. Enhancements for audio, visual and lighting are being requested. The ideal vendor shall have qualified experience in implementing an audio/video/lighting technology upgrade in local government and/or businesses of similar size and scope to the City. The objective is to upgrade to industry standard technology for a semi-automation solution, while maintaining seamless integration with existing audio equipment systems. The scope of work outlined below is not a detailed engineering document and may require minor changes. Vendors must design, deliver, install, configure and validate a complete audio/visual "turnkey system" for the Council Chambers. The successful vendor will be responsible for migrating from the old audio/video system to the new audio/video system with the least impact to City. This includes ensuring the old system is completely functioning during the transition to the new system. No work shall be performed on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month to avoid conflict with the City Council meetings. The Chamber must be clean and free of all equipment on Council meetings days. Please note the City has limited as-builts of the current system.
