Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Yardley, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

** As of August 13, 2025. Project was awarded to G & B Construction, with an awarded amount of $948,590 ** Project Description: Yardley Borough is constructing a pedestrian path along North Main Street. In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to: concrete sidewalk construction, concrete curb construction, pavement restoration and roadway resurfacing, traffic striping, traffic signage, electrical work, driveway apron construction, storm sewer improvements, and ADA-compliant handicapped ramp construction. Upon award of a contract, the Successful Bidder shall provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the awarded contract value. Upon completion of the contract, the Successful Bidder shall provide a 2-year Maintenance Bond in the amount of 100% of the final contract value . Bidders are required to provide Bid Security in an amount equal to 10% of the total amount bid Bid Security may be provided in the form of a certified check or a bid bond issued by a Surety Company licensed to transact such business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Questions Due Date: Jun 19th 2025, 5:00 PM EDT . Work Included A. Base Bid 1. Prior to mobilization perform construction survey mark out including the new drainage facilities for PECO to relocate gas main and appurtenances within the limit of work. 2. Mobilization. a. The assembly and set-up of the general plant required to comply with the contract and with local and state laws and regulations. This includes contractor's offices, shops, plants, storage areas, and sanitary or other facilities. This work includes obtaining the required permits, insurance, bonds, and any other initial items required for the start of the work. 3. Maintenance and protection of traffic during construction. a. The assembly and set-up of the general plant required to comply with the contract and with local and state laws and regulations. This includes contractor's offices, shops, plants, storage areas, and sanitary or other facilities. This work includes obtaining the required permits, insurance, bonds, and any other initial items required for the start of the work. 4. Site clearing 5. Temporary erosion and sediment controls. a. Contractor shall install erosion and sediment controls as shown on the project plans and per the requirements of the PA Department of Environmental Protection and the County Conservation District. 6. Install proposed stormwater infrastructure including but not limited to: a. Furnish and install 18" RCP b. Furnish and install 24" RCP c. Furnish and install inlet tops and boxes d. Furnish and install stormwater manhole e. Furnish and install 6" pavement base drain 7. Construction of concrete curb and depressed curb, including new pavement base drain. a. Install new curb that shall be set to the proposed elevations given on the project plans or as directed by the Engineer. In general, curb limits shall be as shown on the project plan. If there is an existing curb joint within 3 feet of the proposed limits, then the limit of curb shall be extended to the existing joint. Concrete curb shall be constructed using PennDOT Class AA Concrete, which is placed on top of a prepared, compacted subgrade. Driveway apron depressed curbs shall be reinforced with two (2) #5 rebar as shown in the project details. b. New sidewalk shall be installed where directed on the project plans. In general, the new sidewalk is to be constructed to the lines and grades shown on the project plans. New sidewalk shall be constructed using 4" thick PennDOT Class S Concrete, which is placed on top of a compacted 6" thick PennDOT No. 2A subbase. All sidewalk shall comply with the 2010 Standards for Accessible Design. 8. Construction of concrete sidewalks, ADA curb ramps including flares and driveway aprons in accordance with the applicable details from PennDOT Standards for Roadway Construction (Pub. 72M). 9. Roadway restorations. 10. Restorations to the existing trail located at 136 North Main Street. 11. Traffic striping for North Main Street and pedestrian crosswalks. 12. Installation of new traffic signs and resetting existing signs. 13. Installation of electrical conduit for future use of pedestrian crossing infrastructure. 14. Record documents. 15. Furnish and installation of project sign. This work is the assembly and set-up of the general plant required to comply with the contract and with local and State laws and regulations. General plant includes Contractor's offices, shops, plants, storage areas, and sanitary or other facilities. This work includes obtaining the required permits, insurance, bonds, and any other initial items required for the start of the work. A. The work under this section shall consist of the furnishing and installation of all landscaping items, as shown on the plans or specified herein. These items shall include, but not be limited to topsoil, seeding, and tree mulching. B. All grassed areas disturbed during construction shall be restored in accordance with Section 02010. C. Weeds: includes Dandelion, Jimsonweed, Quackgrass, Horsetail, Morning Glory, Rush Grass, Mustard, Lambsquarter, Chickweed, Cress, Crabgrass, Canadian Thistle, Nutgrass, Poison Oak, Blackberry, Tansy Ragwort, Bermuda Grass, Johnson Grass, Poison Ivy, Nut Sedge, Mible Will, Bindweed, Bent Grass, Wild Garlic, Perennial Sorrel and Brome Grass. A. The work covered by this section consists of all earthwork and related and incidental work required to complete the project asindicated on the drawings and specified herein, including but not limited to: 1. Site demolition and clearing 2. Soil erosion and sedimentation control 3. Excavating 4. Trenching 5. Filling and backfilling 6. Shoring and bracing 7. Stone base under slabs on earth 8. Soil compaction 9. Disposal of excess material 10. Quality control testing A. When Sawcutting is specified or required for a neat construction joint, sawing equipment shall be provided adequate in number of units and power to complete the sawing to the required dimensions and at the rate necessary to prevent uncontrolled cracking. The saws shall be equipped with water-cooled diamond edge blades or abrasive wheels and alignment guides. B. Saw shall be of a sufficient size to perform a straight even cut with no irregularities when measured with a ten (10) foot straight edge. C. This section shall include the full depth sawcutting of the existing concrete or bituminous material. D. At least one (1) standby saw in working order shall be provided. An ample supply of saw blades shall be maintained at the work site at all times during sawing operation.
