Renovation of a municipal facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
https://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2025/08/04/city-council-nascar-hall-of-fame-renovation.html I can't access the link directly, but it looks like you're referencing an article about a City Council decision regarding the NASCAR Hall of Fame renovation. This sounds like an exciting development for Charlotte! Given the city's deep ties to NASCAR and motorsports, any renovation or update to the NASCAR Hall of Fame would likely have several key impacts: Boost to Tourism: The Hall of Fame is a major draw for motorsports fans from all over the world. A renovation could make the venue even more attractive, offering updated exhibits, interactive experiences, or modernized facilities that bring in more visitors. Economic Impact: This project would likely create jobs—both during the renovation and after, as it could attract more tourists and event-goers to the area. It could also benefit nearby businesses like hotels, restaurants, and retailers in downtown Charlotte. Cultural Significance: For Charlotte, NASCAR is a huge part of the cultural and historical fabric. Renovating the Hall of Fame could be a way to honor the sport’s legacy while adapting to new trends in museum design or digital experiences. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Provide preliminary evaluation of the program and Project budget requirements, each in terms of the other. Assist the Owner in achieving mutually agreed upon program and Project budget requirements and other design parameters. Provide cost evaluations of alternative materials and systems. 2. The CMAR shall include in the estimate those costs to allow for the further development of the design, price escalation, and market conditions, until such time as the Owner and CMAR agree on a GMP for the Work. 3. If a cost estimating services is engaged as a Supplemental Service, and a discrepancy exists between the CMAR's cost estimates and the supplemental service cost estimate, the CMAR and the Architect/Owner shall work together to reconcile the cost estimates. 4. Review designs during their development. Advise on site coordination, selection of materials, building systems and equipment and methods of Project delivery and procurement. Provide recommendations on relative feasibility of construction methods, availability of materials and labor, time requirements for procurement, installation and construction, and factors related to cost including, but not limited to, costs of alternative designs or materials, preliminary budgets and possible economies. This Request for Qualifications is issued by the City of Charlotte to acquire the services of a Construction Manager-at-Risk for the NASCAR Hall of Fame Renovation project. The Guaranteed Maximum Price estimates for this project is $12-15M, to be refined as design advances. The City is accepting Statements of Qualifications from Firms whose combination of relevant experience and personnel will provide timely professional services to the City for this project. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Question Deadline 07/07/2025 at 5:00 PM ET Online Portal
