The City of Midland is soliciting sealed bids for the major modernization of one existing elevator located within Midland Civic Arena. The selected contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform a full modernization of both elevators in accordance with all applicable codes, safety standards, and best industry practices. Special emphasis shall be placed on: Resident safety and minimizing disruptions to daily activities Control of dust, debris, and loose materials throughout all phases of work Reduction of noise levels to maintain a livable environment Prevention of water and air infiltration during all construction activities Maintenance of a clean and organized work area, both inside and outside the building All work must be performed in a professional and timely manner, in strict adherence to guidelines, Michigan Building Code, ASME A17.1/CSA B44 Safety Code for Elevators, and any additional local jurisdictional requirements.
