Questions Due Date: Jun 19th 2025, 4:00 PM EDT The Birdsboro Municipal Authority is currently seeking bids to remove, haul, and dispose of Non-Hazardous Wastewater Sludge in liquid and cake form from its Wastewater Treatment Facility located at Armorcast Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508. The specific quantities of liquid sludge will be determined on a case-by-case basis. We are interested in a Two (2) year contract proposal for the removal and disposal of approximately 570 wet tons per year of dewatered sludge cake at +- 18% solids concentration, and an undetermined amount of liquid digested sewage sludge, if any, at +- 2.5%. The prices quoted shall be provided on a per ton basis for either or both dewatered sludge and liquid sludge and shall be "complete" and shall include all labor and equipment, supervision of removal, transportation, two (2) containers, and disposal of sludge in a properly licensed/permitted manner and at a permitted/approved site. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid deposit in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, bank check, or Bid bond from an approved surety company; in the amount of ten (10) percent of the total maximum bid made payable to the Birdsboro Municipal Authority. All permits, approvals, and licenses which may be required to accomplish the contract provisions shall be the sole responsibility of the contractor. Successful Bidders will be required to execute an Agreement with the Authority and provide proper bonding as well as a Certificate of Insurance, naming The Birdsboro Municipal Authority as additional insured. The Birdsboro Municipal Authority will furnish access to the plant during normal working hours (M-F) 7:00am-3:00pm. The Birdsboro Municipal Authority will provide required laboratory analyses of the sludge on a periodic basis. The Birdsboro Municipal Authority is requesting bids for sludge removal and disposal services of the indicated approximate annual quantities. The contract, if awarded, will be for the two (2) year period commencing on July 15, 2025 and ending on July 14, 2027; with the option for the Authority to extend the contract before the expiration of the contract period for an additional one (1) year period through July 14, 2028 at the unit bid prices submitted with this proposal. The Authority shall exercise its option to extend the contract for the additional one-year period in writing no later than by June 14, 2027.
