Reference Number 0000295613 Question Acceptance Deadline Jun 27, 2025 02:00 PM EDT The project involves replacing and upgrading the counterweights and their weights, as well as the compensation cables/chains for elevators 1, 2, 10 to 13, and 15 to 18. It also includes replacing the pendant cables for elevators 10 to 13 and 15 to 18 at the Guy-Favreau complex. The main objective of this project is to ensure user safety and extend the life of the equipment. Installed by Dover in 1982, these elevators are at risk of failure due to deteriorating pulley bearings and cracks in the support welds. In addition, Category 5 ("CAT5") tests, now mandatory in Quebec, place increased stress on the car and counterweight, increasing the likelihood of breakage. To eliminate the risk of catastrophic failure and ensure passenger safety, it is recommended that the counterweights, deflection pulleys, and counterweight parachutes in elevators 1, 2, 10 to 13, and 15 to 18 be replaced. In addition, the pendant cables in elevators 10 to 13 and 15 to 18 must be replaced. This project aims to ensure the reliability of the elevators and maximize their durability.
