Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in specifications. This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the specifications, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of Bids. Actual quantities of Work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the County. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and other incidental work for: Project improvements include installation of curb, gutter, and new sidewalk, drainage improvements and street lights, on the south side of Winona Way, due west of the corner of Watt Avenue and Winona Way. There is no pre-bid meeting for this project. Each bid must be submitted on the bid forms provided in the Contract Documents; however, if none are provided, the surety may issue on its own paper. Each bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a bid bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check or cashier's check payable to the Treasurer of Sacramento County, or cash for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate sum of the bid. The successful bidder shall be required to execute a material and labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, acceptable to the County of Sacramento, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Questions received after that time will not be answered. Responses will be by addenda to the bid documents. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to determine which bid, in their judgment, is the lowest responsive bid of a responsible Bidder. The Contractor's attention is directed to Section 4-11, "Lands and Rights-of-Way," of the Standard Construction Specifications and these Special Provisions. The County rights-of-way shall be used only for purposes that are necessary to perform the required work. The Contractor shall not occupy the rights-of-way, or allow others to occupy the rights-of-way, for purposes, which are not necessary to perform the required work. Determination of "necessary to perform work" will be made by the Engineer if necessary. Use of the Contractor's work areas shall be at the Contractor's own risk, and the County shall not be held liable for any damage to or loss of materials or equipment located within such areas. Utilities, including but not limited to water or electricity, will not be provided and shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor. Residence trailers will not be allowed within the County rights-of-way. No vehicles, construction equipment, mobile home/office, supplies, materials or facilities shall be driven, parked, stockpiled or located within the driplines of oak trees. The Contractor shall remove all equipment, materials, and rubbish from the work areas, which the Contractor occupies; and shall leave the areas in a presentable condition. Full compensation for complying with the requirements of this section shall be considered incidental to the project and no additional compensation will be allowed therefor. 4-13 DESCRIPTION OF WORK The work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment for: Project work includes clearing & grubbing, construction of curb, gutter and sidewalk, driveways, drainage facilities, street lighting, pavement grinding, pavement removal, tree removal, roadway excavation, aggregate base, asphalt pavement, traffic striping, and performing all other work specified on the plans and in the specifications. Other items or details not mentioned above that are required by these Special Provisions shall be performed, placed, constructed, or installed in accordance with the Standard Construction Specifications and these Special Provisions. The construction, materials, and workmanship for items of work on the plans, but not specifically mentioned in these Special Provisions are referred to the Standard Construction Specifications for conformance.
