Site work for a power facility in Provo, Utah. Completed plans call for site work for a power facility.
The project consists of the demolition of the existing substation including all equipment, steel, foundations, and cabling followed by the construction of new 138kV-46kV-12.47kV substation to interconnect to the existing 138kV 46kV transmission systems. This project will require the contractor to perform the following. Work shall include All necessary site preparation, storm water management and debris management and containment throughout construction, grading and fill (Contractor is responsible for supplying, placing, compacting, and grading fill material), any required relocation or installation of drainage piping to tie into existing site drainage. The contractor is responsible for installation, adjustment, placement, and testing of all Contractor provided electrical equipment, structural steel, concrete foundations, grounding equipment, above and below grade conduit (including feeder getaway conduits to substation fence), lighting, and finish rock for a complete and functioning facility. Contractor will also assist with Owner installed equipment, which includes substation transformers, breakers, and switchgear. The contractor is responsible for the installation of all new equipment and all additional primary, secondary and grounding connections to the equipment. All conduit, foundations, fiberglass grating, ground grid and grounding attachment points are included in this scope. Contractor will provide all labor and materials as listed on the Bill of Materials drawings for the substation (as noted on the drawing), in addition to all miscellaneous equipment and materials (conduit, cables, lugs, terminations, labels, grounding equipment and conductor, foundations, structural steel, crushed rock surfacing, etc.) for a complete, functional, and working Electrical Substation. Contractor is responsible for previously described foundation work (earthwork, formwork, backfill, anchor bolts, soil compaction, reinforcement, concrete, curing, finishing, joints, and other related work) within the substation. The work includes the entirety of all conduits associated with the new substation. All such questions must be submitted on Bonfire by Monday, June 23, 2025 at 2 p.m. MDT. This Request for Proposal (RFP) will assist the City in selecting a qualified contractor to provide construction services and participate in activities for the construction of the 138kV-46kV-12.47kV Gillespie Substation. construction services related to the removal of the existing substation, site preparation and construction of the Gillespie electrical substation, including two 60MVA 138-46kV auto-transformers, one 33MVA 138-12.47kV power transformer, 138kV and 46kV ring busses, and all associated equipment and labor required to complete a fully functional electrical substation.
